While boating is an outdoor activity subject to unpredictable weather and other forces of nature. We have made reasonable efforts to make this a safe family friendly fun event.
No it is definitely not a race. There is no reward for completing the circuit first. In fact speed is discouraged. The effort is to raise awareness to both those participating and those observing on shore and other boats. There will be Ontario Provincial Police on the water of Lake Muskoka charging and fining boaters for irresponsible behavior and unsafe boating practices. We are in full support of their role and their public responsibility.
No you don't have to dress your boat, but there are prizes for decorations and team spirit. This is also a great way for cottagers and boater watching from afar to understand why you have chosen to support Boating for the Cure.
